I had surgery over 2 weeks ago for a small bowel resection. They removed a foot of my small intestine. I have Crohn's disease and was diagnosed a year ago. I tried everything Asacol, Entacort, 6MP, Remicade and steroids. I could deal with the pain but I was constantly nausea. I found out about the obstruction because my liver enzymes were thru the roof and they did more testing.
Now since the surgery my nausea is the same if not worse. And I have constant pain. I realize that i have to be a patient patient while I recover but the nausea has me concerned. My GI doctor sends me to a neurologist when I tell him I have this symptom. (who sends me back to the GI due to the Crohn's) It drives me crazy. I am currently not taking any meds while I heal so I'm at a lose trying to figure out why this is still happening. Does anyone else suffer from this? If so what has helped you.
Secondly I feel like there is a tugging going on in my stomach along with the pain. I know it is surgery related but does that go away?
Thoughts and comments are welcome.
Thanks,
Kaydee

Kaydee- any updates?! I hope you are doing okay. I only say this because my dear friend just had gastro-intestinal surgery herself and then underwent massive complications and side effects. Of course everyone has to recover post surgery and no one feels great, but if it's something worse than the "normal post surgery recovery effects," I'd really recommend calling your doctor asap to get it checked out.

interested. i am due for surgery here soon because of an obstruction. i have some of the same issues as you; not so much neausea but a choking feeling and that weird tugging feeling in your stomach...and i haven't even had surgery. i'm on steriods, i have been for years, i'm also on cimzia. i think most doctors are just pretty bad and if they *** this up i'll be so irate.
