Sorry, this may be my second post. I had a computer issue and not sure the first one went out. Apologize if this is redundant.
After 25 years with UC, with year scopes, it seems that I am getting closer to surgery in order to reduce my chance of cancer.
My previous GI has just retired. I now have a list of 10 or so other GI & surgeons that accept my insurance. I don't know any of these guys at all.
Seeing that this new individual may have a huge impact on my life. How do I pick the right GI and/or surgeon going forward?
If perhaps not the best ones, at least not the wrong one(s).
Any advice would be appreciated.
Although CCFA is not able to recommend a specific physician or treatment center, we can direct you to some resources which will help you identify some doctors and centers. Below I have provided a useful link from the CCFA website on “Finding a Specialist or Treatment Center” http://www.ccfa.org/living/choosephysician . In the fact sheet “Finding a Specialist or Treatment Center” we provide a list of important questions to ask to find the right specialist for your case, a listing of websites to locate specialists, how to choose a treatment facility, and how to communicate with your doctor to make sure you get the most out your visit and health management.
