Resection or not to resection?

So saw a surgeon he said he could do a resection on me and my GI is leaving it up to me what I want to do. Since there is no guarantee it will help at all. They would take a part of both my small and large intestines since that's where I have Crohn's. No medications help they either do not work or I become allergic. I have been on 9 out of the 10 used for the treatment of Crohn's. So I either just keep on my path that I am on now which is nothing and wait for an obstruction to happen to have emergency surgery or have the resection and see if that helps at all. Need some advice from all of you on here since no one else really understands what I am going through.

Well I had a colonoscopy last week and saw my Dr yesterday and I have to have surgery no choice now. My stricture is pretty bad.

Hi,

What was your decision? I'm in the same predicament- whether to have surgery electively now or in a few months. And hopefully not have to have an emergency surgery in the mean time. I have a stricture that is not responding very well to medication, so surgery is imminent I'm told.

Try rearranging your diet. Cut out dairy and red meat. I know those are some of the better foods but anything worth a try.
