Hello all I'm starting a blog following my daughter's colectomy. I'm very nervous as she goes through this next phase, but her UC has really taken over her life. I stop by this forum often and find it very helpful. I would like to take this opportunity to possibly help others by posting our journey. I would appreciate any advise anyone has to offer as I am about to support her through this surgery.
thanks,
momtuch

My 12 year old son was just diagnosed with UC. I am actually in the hospital with him now as the doctors try to get it under control. Its been 4 days on meds without much improvement and it is killing me to see him like this. As his dad I am supposed to protect our him, keep him from getting hurt, and get him well when he gets sick. For 3 weeks now he has looked at me in horrible pain wish his big brown eyes just begging me to do something and I can't. I have no idea why I am posting this except maybe to vent a little. I wish the best for you and your child.

Hi. I am new to this site. I tried the blog address, however it didn't work. Just wondering how things are going. My son is 12 and is currently on remicade and it only helps with the joint pain, not the uc. I was hoping to connect with some parents on this site.

Childhood is the very important part of any person and it is like the visual guide. Children of this age face many infectious diseases in the early years of life. There are many diseases that they experience such as colds, bronchiolitis, or croup though these are quieter in that age but very difficult to avoid. Some others in these are ear infections, sinusitis, impetigo which is probably known as Skin infection and conjunctivitis. The best thing that most of us follow to control these diseases in children in early stages is using Vaccines- has been incredibly effective in preventing childhood diseases and improving child mortality rates. These vaccine fights against many diseases in children if provided whenever necessary. you may get some more details about any of the childhood devices at modernerapediatrics.com anytime.

Looks like you will be one week ahead of my daughter. I would love to keep track of this journey together. Sending love and prayers to your son. We will be thinking of him on Tuesday.
