Dr can't find cause of bleeding

Sat, March 08, 2014 9:07 AM

I'm hoping someone else may have experience in this:  My daughter is 23, had been in excellent health and has had constant rectal bleeding and pain for over two months.  No abdominal pain.  She has lost four pounds unintentionally over this time, but says she does not feel "sick".  I thought probably hemorroids but dr couldn't find anything on exam, then did a colonoscopy which was completely normal.   Dr told her to eat high fiber diet but I think she already does.   Maybe allergic colitis?  My internet research shows allergic colitis is something more likely in infants though.

My daughter is 9yrs old and she has had rectal bleeding for 2 years now..  We can not seem to stop it.. She has been on several meds such as steroids, pentasa, hydrocortizone suppositories and enemas, Colazal, 6mp... No combination of anything seems to be helping..  So frustrated at this point..  Would love to hear others comments on this..
