Porridge helps

Thu, August 13, 2015 11:32 AM

My mother has been suffering from Crohn's for a long time.
Although she tries to eat easy-to-digest foods to avoid pain after eating, pain comes randomly.
Same food can cause pain depending on her body condition.
What generally works for her the best when it's bad - plain white rice porridge "Asian" style.
You have to cook it for a long time.
She usually has it with a bit of soy sauce.
For those of you with a really bad pain, try it.
Others that work well for my mother:  Chamomile tea with honey, saltine crackers with honey, banana with a small amount of creamy peanut butter.
As you probably all know, regular milk is no good so I heat soy milk for her.
