Parent - Teen on liquid diet

Wed, September 09, 2015 4:48 AM

My daughter is 17 and is doing the all liquid diet for 8wks. to help with a secondary infection caused by her Crohn's. She will be drinking PediaSure Peptide and water only.  I am just wondering how other parents help their children through this. Currently we aren't eating in front of her and aren't cooking at home.  I feel like she has to deal with food at school and in the world, so she shouldn't be 'tortured' by us.  Between the meds (Remicade, Ciproflaxin, Flagyl), anxiety, pain, make-up work, and missing out on things, I just want to make one thing a little easier.

I have alot of information for you.Diagnosed in 2011 and I am on no meds. Found a doctor that follows the SCD Diet and read
the book Breaking the Vicious Cycle.

You can email me, SHABELL2@msn.com. I can guide you in the right direction  Good Luck.

I feel so bad for the kids that have IBD. Its hard enough  for  adults.
