Remicade in Korea

Mon, September 24, 2018 1:14 PM

There is a chance my family will be moving to Seoul, Korea next summer and I am concerned as to the ease and cost of obtaining Remicade for our son.  Has anyone had any experience in Korea and if so what can you tell me about it?  Thanks in advance.

Hi Jill,
It will be important for you to contact the manufacturer of infliximab (Remicade), to see if the medication is sold in Korea.  The names of the products may be different in Korea.  Here is the link to the Janssen contact:  http://www.janssen-emea.com/janssen_worldwide
If your family is moving for employment, check with the employer regarding your health insurance benefits.  You should check the medication formulary to see if infliximab is covered.   Below are some GI related organizations that may be able to provide more information:

  • Korean Associate for the Study of Intestinal Disease  Email:thekasid@gmail.com
#305, Lotte Gold Rose Ville-II, 890-59, Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea, 135-839
Tel: +82-2-957-6145 / Fax: +82-2-957-6146
