What are the rights of kids that want to participate in sports but there are no bathrooms in the fields? There is a soccer and baseball team in our school district (but the district will say they do not sponser these activities.)
Do I have any rights to make them open up the school for a bathroom or put a portable bathroom out in the field?

I know this is a couple of months past your post but all of our local soccer associations and other sports are REQUIRED to have porta potties at all fields. My oldest has played soccer for many years. She was just diagnosed last year but our coach was very understanding. She ended up missing half the season due to her meds giving her horrible episodes of verdigo but there are usually public laws about that type of thing. Now if it's played on a school ground outside of school hours I thought there are still rules that apply to them. Good luck.

What a great question!! I am not sure if you can force them to open the school for bathroom use but I thought there had to be a building available to shelter people incase of bad weather (I guess that depends on where you live). I think that the people in charge should be sensitive to your son's needs if you provide a medical note. Let us know what you find out. My 7 year old son has Crohns but he plays indoor soccer so he can always leave and go to the bathroom. His coach is very understanding. Take care.
