How do I start this diet??
It seems so overwhelming that I simply can't wrap my brain around it!
Do I need a yogurt maker in order to start?/
Any easy starting tips to share??
Thanks

Crohn's Disease is not curable. Think the author needs to read up on the disease.

You could try just reducing carbohydrates and increasing good fats. It is easier to make diet seem normal that way
Read Life without Bread by Lutz and Allan. It discusses the health benefits of reducing carbs and is not a book about gluten-free diet. I have used SCD with great success but this book has really helped in making my diet a bit less restrictive.

My daughter has Crohn's she is 10 and was 8 when diagnosed. I agree, this disease stinks and while I would love to believe the SCD diet would help I know it is impossible to force a child to do something they are unwilling to do. I would not attempt this diet unless she fully supported it. Maybe when she is older? Have you tried keeping a food journal and identifying what foods bother your child? I did that at the beginning and it really helped. We have completely eliminated red meat, greasy/fried foods, most fruits, some vegetables. I cook a lot at home, and we hardly eat out at restaurants. All of these things have made it much better for my daughter. When she "cheats" she does it in small amounts. Good luck.
