I am trying to get parents together by age groups for more support, stories to compare.Maybe if we do it this way we can do a study ourselves to come up with a cure or at least a theory! I'm willing to try what ever it takes to stop this NIGHTMARE!

Your post if very old - but I would love to talk to other parents of children who have chron's granulomatous colitis. My daughter is 7 - she has had this disease for a number of years. Azathioprine worked for several years. She is going to try etyvio now.

I'm curious what insurance issue would you have?

My son was born with Crohn's Colitis. It was not diagnosed until he was 16th mths old.

Hi. I'm new to this community. This is actually my very first post. My daughter just turned 5 this summer, and has been diagnosed with "non-specific" colitis (the doc said ulcerative colitis diagnosis will cause insurance problems so he's not ready to give UC diagnosis just yet).

My grandson is 4 yrs old and as of today has been diagnosed with Crohn's. I would like to help my daughter-in-law cop with the news she received today -- and find ways to start applying right away to help make his life better from the start, and have him feel ashamed when he gets older.

Dear jcraig007...I have a 5-year0old son, myself, so I cannot imagine what you are going through, but I have come on this forum to share my testimony from my older step-son who is a colitis patient. I have also just responded to a question from saddenmom14, so by now, she should be aware of this info as well...do have a read:
After being told repeatedly by doctors that
diet has no effect whatsoever on UC (a part of the digestive system,
nonetheless), my husband refused to accept that claim and finally found a way
to get his son healed without medication or surgery. This regimen has healed
thousands of Colitis and Crohn’s patients all over the world for 20 years!
The name of the
book is "Self Healing Colitis & Crohn's"
We spent the next 2 weeks weaning my
step-son off of the medications and drips (he had to hide his medications at
times because the doctors refused to work with him in this regimen). He followed
the proposed regimen of this system and at the end of those two weeks, he was
finally released from his 5-week stay in the hospital when his visits to the
bathroom went from 20 per day to 2 per day!!!!
One week later, and on zero medications, the results of his next rectal scope showed that his colon had completely healed other than one polyp which showed a brand new surface coming up behind it.
