Hi my 14 year old son had surgery where the removed his entire colon and rectum. I have been on here many times with concerns about this. He was very sick, on a feeding tube for a couple of months. He dropped from 130lbs down to 96lbs. It was all so scarey. Thanks to all the people who responded to me in the past. Well anywase he had his 1st surgery in February and we spent a month in the hospital do to some complications, like infections, abcesses and pancreatitis. He had his second surgery on April 30th and he is now back to his sormal weight and is doing better than ever. As scarey as this surgery was along with the complications, it was the best choice that we ever made. So if any of you parents ever need someone to talk to I would love to be there to help. My email is mel_rose_sun@hotmail.com and my name is Melanie

:) Thanks! He is doing sooo well....I am so happy we went with the surgery. He is able to be a normal teenage boy again, he rides motercycles, runs, rides bikes, anything now. All he has to do is drink some extra fluids and he is good.
