My 11 daughter was diagnosed with UC this past November. It has been a rocky road , as you all know but she is starting to feel better. She will be off the steroids this weekend so we are keeping our fingers crossed that she doesn't have another flare up. One thing that has gotten her down in the dumps is the joint pain. I give her tyneol but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions? Also she is desperate to talk with someone else going through this. If there is anyone willing to chat with her I would be grateful.

Hi there, my 11 yo daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's almost 4 years ago. 2 years before that she was suffering from really bad joint pain (which eventually paired with the flare led me to a gi specialist - that was the first sign she had Crohn's was the joint pain). She still gets crippling joint pain in her ankles, knees and hips (sometimes a finger or 2). The only thing she takes is Tylenol but what does help her is a heating pad and rest. I won't risk giving her NSAIDS as we all know that's not a good idea with IBD. Try the heating pad combined with the Tylenol, I hope it works for her. My daughter would love to chat with yours via email! I have been looking over the last couple of years to connect her with another girl her age, sounds great!! Our email is dajeetee@yahoo.com if you would like to connect. I always like to connect with another mom too! We all could use as much support as we can get, right!? Thanks!

My daughter, 14, was diagnosed with UC in January 2008. I am sure she would be happy to chat with your daughter. Also, I would be happy to chat with you as well - parents need the support just as much as our kiddos.

He sent her an email, hope all is well and he can help her out. He has made several friends through Camp Oasis and I know they all help each other out and just to vent about it.
