Hey All,
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease back in 2003. At that time, the disease was located mostly in my descending colon. About a week and a half ago, I had to go to the ER where they found that my Crohn's has now spread into my transverse colon. JOY!
I suppose I can handle the pain and the steroids, but for the last week, I have had light vaginal bleeding and vaginal gas. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm on the NuvaRing, so I know the bleeding is not due to my period, especially since I don't get it at all. Again, I suppose I could handle the bleeding, but the vaginal gas is unexpected, uncomfortable and quite embarrassing.
If anyone has gone through this, or has any idea what is causing it, please respond. I currently feel like such a freak of nature.

Thank you all for your replys. I spoke to my doctor, and she believes I do have a fistula. I am preparing to start Remicaid soon, so hopefully that will help. Here's Hoping!!

You need to have an exam to diagnose the problem and see if it is a fistula. If you haven't already - schedule that appointment!

I'm so sorry you also have this problem. I thought I was passing blood, but found out it was a fisula ... the gas bubbles & embarrases me, the smell is awful !! The GYN Dr can do surgery for it, but sometimes it heals on it's own ... So I'm waiting to see. Do hope you will find an answer for yourself. I've found a sitiz (sp) bath with Epson Salts & warm water does help. Best wishes & prayers, Granny

hi
i was diagnosed in sept '08, and hospitalized again in mar. '09 for hemorahging. at that time, they found that i had an absess and an anal/vaginal fistula. simply put, stools and gas exit thru the vagina. i cannot even begin to say how horrible this has been. aside from the hygiene standpoint, the humiliation is the worst part of it. so i feel for what you are experiencing now. the good new is that since i have been on Cimzia (4/09), the fistual has started to close and i am now only dealing with the gas. although this sometimes happens with Cimzia, there are no guarantees. i will just have to be patient and wait it out. and there is always surgery to close the fistula. in the meantime, i avoid heavy meals, any foods that may produce gas, and, unfortunately, people at this time. work is particularly stressful. i do what i have to, from day to day. hope this helps?
Looking to see if anyone else is dealing with li....
