Acupuncture, massage therapy and reflexology are all very good things for you to do.
I would also recommend a very good multi vitamin (I take GNC Active Womens), a complex B, Ester C (not all C is the same, trust me), Omega 3-6-9, and if you are losing weight a protein by Garden of Life named "Goatein".
These are what I take to maintain my health without prescriptions. The prescriptions that were tried on me all failed miserably.
When I was first diagnosed with Crohn's and found that I couldn't take the prescriptions, my dh went to the local health food store and talked with the owner whom has a number of degrees and he recommended I read Dr. Jordan Rubin's books and try his products. It helped me tremendously. They are expensive, but not really when quality of life is what you are looking for. It helped me get my symptoms under control and finally get into remission. (Almost a year. I was in bad shape)
Now I just take the above mixture of vitamins and supplements and do well 85% of the time. The only time I have a problem is when I eat something that I know I shouldn't or when I push myself and my immune systems gets too low and I end up with a cold of some sort.

Acupuncture, Massage, Reflexology. Done it all and MORE. If symptoms are worse the next day.... Back off and ask the practitioner to be more gentle or do less. Anything that helps you emotionally and mentally feel better supports you feeling physically better. What has worked for me the best is to have a number of things that I do.... Chiropractic, massage, meditation, cats, and my favorite REFLEXOLOGY. It took going to 5 people over many years to find the right fit. My ears love it the best, but hands and feet are great too. You can do it to yourself, go to a professional, teach a loved one. Regular reflexology has also helped my body to respond better and more quickly to each session. It truly helps me feel better and more balanced, and more able to cope. even if my life is crumbling or if I am having a lot of symptoms. I love my reflexology high! Keep trying the alternative / complimentary therapies...and anything that helps make it a NON-NEGOTIABLE part of your health care. You are worth it.

I used accupuncture for a few months last year... it really helped with the night sweats and the joint pains, but not so much with the stomach cramps or diarrhea. I wasn't disappointed however, because those night sweats were terrible, and having relief from that was completely worth it!

I have been doing accupuncture for about a month now. It has helped with the lower back pain associated with UC but hasn't really made a difference with the UC symptoms. Actually, my symptoms seem to be worse right after and the next day.

I'm sure you've heard this before...but honestly...everyone is different...you might experience that it works whereas someone else may not. That goes for many treatments out there. Good Luck!!
