Hi,
Wondering if anyone else has had this issue - lack of a period. While, this may seem like a good thing, when you are trying to get pregnant it is not. I have not gotten a period without the aid of fertility drugs for over 4 years. Yikes! Anyone else have anything similar? My thought is poor absorption of nutrients but I am not sure how to combat that. I eat very healthy, maybe too healthy and am thinking that I don't absorb fat well or something!
Any feedback would be great!
Hi,
I am a 50 year old female and have had Crohns since I was about 30. I had surgery in 1998 at age 36 (there was no option for a good treatment at that time)and had most of my colon removed. I opted not to go back for further surgery at that time because I knew there was a good possibility of the Crohns returning if I got "re-connected". Anyway, I had been on the pill for years, but knew with an ileostomy, it may not be absorbed so I was looking at other birth control after my surgery. As fate would have it, I never had another menstrual cycle once I stopped the birth control. When they tested my FSH they indicated it was as high as an 80 year-old woman, indicating I had been post-menopausal for a while.
My husband and I decided that is the way God intended.
Please consider adoption. There are so many children out there needing good homes.
Good luck,
K.

hi,
I have been diagnosed with crohns for a few years now and I am currently taking humira and imuran. I feel great and I am classified in remission.
I do however have extremely long cycles. 40-50 days. I had normal cycles while on birth control but i have been off birth control for a year now and have these long cycles. I am currently trying to track if i am actually ovulating etc.
i have just recently read about these types of drugs causing some problems with hormone levels etc(its frankly over my head in knowledge so i am going to ask my specialist when i see her next).
Not sure my post helps but I just thought i would share.....
Looking to see if anyone else is dealing with li....
