TPN

My doctor brought up TPN in our last visit since I am so underweight and malnourished. He didn't get me a time frame as to how long I would be on it, we would kinda just play it by ear and get off of it after my blood levels improved. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with it and how it helped or how if it was a struggle. Thanks in advanced!

My husband was put on TPN in early September after five days in the hospital.  Unfortunately, he developed an allergic reaction to it and had to stop. The plan was for him to be on it for 6 weeks or so.  The bag was in a backpack and the port was in his upper arm.  I had a lot of hope that this was going to make a difference for him! It was going to be hard, but worth the effort if it was going to put the disease in remission!
