Help Gain Weight

Mon, November 19, 2018 4:04 PM

Hello,

I am new to this forum.
Here's my background. I had 120cm of my small intestine removed on October 1st and was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease on October 3rd, 2018. I have an ileostomy. My surgeon wants me to gain 60 pounds before I can have my reversal. I started at 114 and am at 119 pounds. I am hopeful of this I will have the reversal.

I have gained only four pounds since my diagnosis and hope to weight 130 by mid December. I am connected to tpn each night and consume 4200 calories on a good day. I have difficulty eating and drinking so much. I force myself because I have to. I don't feel full after eating. My issue is getting sick of eating or being discouraged when I fall behind on my calorie goal during the day.

What tips do you have to help me fain weight and not get sick of eating so much? I have gotten nauseous a couple of times and threw up once.

I would appreciate any tips on the situation. Feel free to ask me any additional questions.

Thank you,

Chad
