I'm 20 years old. I've been diagnosed with crohn's since 2014. I tried every possible medication and currently on stelara. I've never had worse symptopms than this period. I literally can't eat anything but bread, pasta and fish and maybe two other options without having pain and gas. part of my bowl is "tight" (can't think of the proper word) because of inflamation so it causes constapation, painful gas that I can't pass for the entire day, and many cramps. I've been losing a lot of weight lately (currently 52 kilos @175 cm height) because I just can't find food to eat which is such a ***** feeling. Not eating not because I have no apetite, but because most food will cause so much pain that I just prefer to stay hungry. When I stick to the foods that don't irritate me I get bored so quickly because there are so few options. My doctor currently can't offer further help but to wait for the stelara to kick in (if it even does). I'm just so sick of living like this and feeling so depressed. And what hurts more is not having anyone that understands the frustration I'm living in.

Exactly. Most people don't comprehend how much I'm actually affected by this, not to mention the mental side of it too. Anyways, I haven't tried digestive enzymes before. I'll ask the doctor about it the next visit. Thanks a lot for your suggestion, means a lot

It's true that I'm a bit inactive lately. I will surely try that the next couple of days. Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it

Hey,
I hear you, the food options really suck, but not half as much as the lack of understanding people have of the symptoms and how debilitating they can be.
Most people just think you have diarrhoea or gas and you should get on with it.
I usually find they back down when I tell them how much blood I'm passing.
Have you tried taking digestive enzymes? They have helped me a bit when eating foods outside my allowed list, which is a constantly evolving list. It can give you some other options now and then in terms of what you can eat.

Sorry to hear your difficulties Seneca. I've had similar issues to you where just about any food causes painful gas and gets backed up. One day I couldn't take lying down in pain anymore and tried walking just at a moderate pace in circles. After 15m of walking, a lot of my symptoms had improved.
I now walk around 1-2 hours a day to keep my digestive system moving at a reasonable pace.
This method may or may not help you but what's there to lose? I hope you get better and the Stelara works well for you as a treatment option.
