Gaining Weight

Mon, April 04, 2011 9:48 AM

So Im really trying to gain weight. I understand this is an issue with a lot of us. What I dont understand is, I am able to eat a lot and I do. I take 6mp, a mutli-vitamin and a probiotic. I excercise and try to stay healthy. But it seems no matter how much I eat I cant gain the weight back I lost.

I would really like to gain 10 lbs. Does anyone have any idea on how I can acheive this?

Thanks!

Weight is a constant up-hill battle for my daughter too.   We have met with a nutritionist several times and things are getting better, but the progress is slow.

Eating more frequent smaller meals helps as does more "safe" snacks. The key is to add add'l calories to your day, but making sure they aren't going to upset the applecart.  I'm not sure if you are lactose int. or not, my daughter isn't, so I make her a Mama's Special Shake.    It is loaded with calories, by the time I'm done, we are well over 6-700 cal.   We don't do the shakes every day (3-4 times wk) and I do vary them from time-to-time to keep things interesting.   We also add in calories where you wouldn't necessarily think.  An example is adding olive oil to steamed veggies.   Use full-fat ranch dressing often.....she dips meats, fishes, veggies.   Adding gravy to those mashed potatoes, using whole milk yogurt.

I hope this helps somewhat.  I know it gets discouraging, but it will happen.   Just stay with it.
