Recently, I dropped down several pounds but climbed back up since I found out I had pouchitis, and now that I have health insurance I am on antibiotics (out since the first of the year) but I'm constipated. I always had the feeling that I wasn't getting everything out of my intestines (which is why, I thought, I was gaining weight so fast), but now I'm stuffed to the brim with food that will only come out in pure liquid, even then I still feel like it's sitting in there. I've been vomiting more often because I can't get it out the other way. I've tried fiber supplements, metamucil powder and wafers--and prune juice. I even stopped taking my immodium and lomotil and still the only thing I can get out is minimal, and usually liquid.
It's hard to tell because after a j-pouch the stool is so slim, but it doesn't look like a lot. I know I'm eating more than that.
