Anyone have any recipes for a healthy shake or smoothie to help child with crohns put on weight. They are recommending boost and ensure and I would prefer a healthier version that would taste good too.

Depends on how much solids they can tolerate. I found I can tolerate soy based weight gain powder in a lactose-free smoothie/shake recipe. I like having the added ice so make it a smoothie if you can. I also add a banana for texture and nutrients.
1 banana
1 cup of ice
1 scoop of soy based weight gain powder (check the ingredients for any food allergies/ food sensitivity, everyone is different.

Why is this shake mixture bad ? I eat these things seperately all the time (except the Ensure) for protein, snacks, etc.
I have Crohns; short-bowel syndrome from many surgeries, etc.
And where in the world can I get the specific ingredients in the cocktail you describe of this "Super Plasma" diet/drink/etc. ? The description is OK but a bit too technical to glean ingredients to make something to drink/eat. More info please - I'm new to this, though I've been trying for years to discover some dietary supplementation to help with weight, absorption of needed vitamins, etc.
thanx

Here's the ingredients for a homemade shake that helped me to gain weight.
1 ensure
large scoop of ice cream
tablespoon of peanut butter
1 banana (sliced and frozen)
1 bag of Nestles Instant Breakfast
Mix in blender. Some of these ingredients may not be tolerable for a person.
