Substitutes for Butter and SCD Yogurt

Thu, September 22, 2011 10:21 PM

I am trying to implement the Recipes for the SCD by Raman Prasad and I was wondering what to use for the butter in the recipes and yogurt. I was thinking I could use the Ghee (not sure if Coconut Oil would work in some of them or not). Also I haven't started using the yogurt yet. I am usually very sensitive to any milk so I am a little worried about that. What do you think about substituting applesauce for the yogurt in some of his muffins?

Also I seem to be constipated so I am sure that is from cutting out so much sugar and carbs from my diet so what does everyone do? Don't want to have the reverse problem either so need some advice.

Thanks

Applesauce should work well. I often separate the eggs in scd recipes and whisk the whites separately to make the baking lighter.
