Hi I am a 23 year old college student and I am having problems with keeping a healthy diet and controlling my symptoms.
I have no support at all and no friends at the moment. It is really difficult keeping up with my problem because I am really underweight.
I don't have a job and I really need someone to help me because my parents are preventing my recovery.
I was homeschooled when I was younger and my issue has arised due to medication. It is getting in the way of my adulthood.

I agree with marieoxo.
Take some time to try to figure out what foods help/hurt you. What I did was make a spreadsheet and jotted down exactly what I ate and when, how it affected me etc. Once you figure out what foods trigger your problems, you can stay away from those. Conversely, find good foods that you know you won't have any problems with when you eat them. I'm big on supplements as well. I take D3, coconut oil, fish oil, and drink Shakeology once a day. I certainly have my ups and downs, but for the most part I'm pretty healthy! Best of luck!

And remember to stay away from trigger foods! Spicey foods, fast foods chocolate, coffee, fried meals, snacks, ALCOHOL, beans, Ect.
Try organic gluten free none HMO you'll really feel and see a difference in your symptoms. Bananas, pears, vegetable broth, plain white rice, squash, steamed veggies are a good alternative. It's hard changing your diet at our age we want to eat what everyone else eats but it's for our own good we're dealing with a problem that others aren't and we have to accept that and manage it.
-Best wishes again christina

Hey let my start out by saying I am really sorry to hear that. I've been dealing with ulc colitis and I am 21 years of age and could never find the right medications to control my symptoms I to am underweight, losing 25lbs really put a drain on my body but there is hope! Try looking into holistic health for healing your colon and entire organs I went to see a naturopath & she put me on 4 diffrent supplements and 3 liquids one included magnesium for my bones because she told me I was very weak everything she told me about my body is exactly what I was feeling. She said I did have ulc colitis as well as a very bad bacteria. I can HONESTLY say I've never felt better! I've been doing exactly what she said and I can't complain my stomach is at ease instead of so tense, bloody stools, diarrhea & the steroids I was on had me so depressed I'm more happy now even my bf noticed my moods approving. I really want you to try looking into what I did try a holistic approach & follow it to help manage. Instead of pharmacy drugs putting a band aid on a big cut people with IBD deal with, go straight to healing the problem. Wish you the best in health !
