Hey y'all, I'm 18 and a college freshman. I moved a few months ago and ever since I did, my UC has been a lot worse. I feel so sick that when I'm not in class, I'm usually just sitting in my apartment. I think part of the reason it's so bad is because I'm so far from home and my parents who have been my biggest supporters since my diagnosis. Am I crazy for wanting to transfer to somewhere closer to home?

Thank you so much for your reply! I am starting to get used to it a little more where I am now, so the thought of starting over somewhere else is terrifying. But at the same time, my health has been way worse since the move and the best treatment I can receive is back at home, as well as the industry I really want to work in, so I think I may transferring also. I'm glad it worked for you and thanks for sharing!!
Hello,
I thought I would share my advice about college life and living with IBD! I attended a school that was 4 hours away from where my parents and doctors lived my freshman year of college. It was very, very hard for me and I felt like it was hard to be happy being somewhere I didn't feel comfortable in. So my sophomore year I ended up transferring and even though I was sad to do so, it all worked out in the end!! Sometimes with this disease you need to alter things in your life to do what fits and makes you the happiest!! I would keep an open mind and don't feel discouraged! I am still at the new school I transferred to and I am very happy with my choice.
Best of luck,
Jacqueline
