We will see I guess. My sister (born 7 years after me) has the exact same symptoms which is why I was suspecting it could be passed on genetically. We were both born very late in our parents lives so maybe it was just a defect.

"The inheritance pattern of Crohn disease is unclear because many genetic and environmental factors are likely to be involved. However, Crohn disease tends to cluster in families; about 15 percent of affected people have a first-degree relative (such as a parent or sibling) with the disorder." My mom has symptomless crohn's, her mom has UC and her dad had IBS and colon cancer. My dad just has IBS, his sister has Crohn's and his brother's son has IBS.
