For many current college students, reapplication for on-campus housing is has already begun, or will be beginning soon. With this fact in mind, living on campus with Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, or other forms of IBD, can be made relatively easy if the proper accommodations can be provided by the university's housing office.
This process is relatively simple, and typically only requires a student to submit a request for an Americans with Disabilities (ADA) accommodation, usually done by having your pediatrician or gastroenterologist submit a letter detailing the general symptoms of the condition, and request specific accommodations that you may require while at school (i.e. a room with a private bathroom, a room that is quiet, to avoid extra fatigue).
Don't ever hesitate to get in contact with the university's housing office to make your life easier while you live at school, as the main purpose of being at school is to learn, and being in a positive living environment that is suited to your specific needs is crucial to college success.
