I will be travelling next week, and my main concern is that we have an early morning flight (7am) and it takes 40 minutes to get to the airport. This will take place at the time during the morning when I usually use the bathroom 4 times or more, with urgency (absolutely no waiting, or I will have a big accident!). Any suggestions of what I can do/take that will relieve this urgency temporarily? As long as I'm near a bathroom, either at the airport or on board the plane, I'm not concerned. It's simply that trip from home to the airport that worries me, as well as getting out of the house in time to get there!
Thanks for any help you can provide.

protein shakes that do not include milk are the best for me, since i am either lactose intolerant or allergic to cow-dairy...not sure which. there are pretty good drinks called "muscle milk" available in many regular supermarkets, and at the gnc health products stores. recently i have also started to look for organic products when possible.
and finally avoid caffeine and sugary sodas. both will pep you up but are *** on the gut.

I want to start some protein shakes... Can you please advise which protein shakes are you able to tolerate... Thanks!
Immodium (loperamide) is OTC.
Hyoscyamine is Rx

I don't travel often, but when I do I just don't eat the day of until I get to my destination. Hunger pains are nothing near as bothersome as UC cramps.

After years of freaking out, I now have a plan that allows me to travel.
Starting the day before I travel and throughout the trip:
* I eat an extremely low-residue (i.e., very low fiber) and low volume diet.
* I increase my daily dose of immodium and hyoscyamine from 1X to 2X.
* I bring protein drinks, white rice, etc. with me so that I'm not tempted to eat in restaurants.
So far, it's worked pretty well.
Best of luck.
