Advice for vacation

Thu, July 17, 2008 12:00 AM

We are taking a family vacation in a few weeks and have not traveled or eaten at restaurants much since my 8 year old was diagnosed with Chrons in the spring.  I plan to bring some of her safe foods, (cheerios, bagels, etc) to have as back ups in case we cannot find healthy choices.  Does anyone have advice on traveling and/or eating at restaraunts with Chrons?

My 11 year old daughter has CD and we still vacation, just remember to bring along the essentials. Meds, thermometer, etc. anything you think u may need. As for eating outin restraunts I am not sure of her dietary restrictions, my daughters just not supposed to have anything to high in fiber so we were just careful with what she ordered. She ate alot of fish, chicken, steak and seafood. My prefference for her is steak because of her tendency to be anemic I think it helps to give her more iron, and fish too. Hope your vacation is enjoyable and hope this helped.
