Travel -long flight

Wed, June 18, 2025 2:29 PM

Hi,
new to the community. I have U/C. I am in a major flare. Tried and failed 2 meds on to my 3rd. Timing could not be worse. I am about to get on a 10.5 hr flight for vacation. Anyone have any advice as to how to get through a 2 hrs ride to the airport. Then the 10.5 hrs flight, customs line and then a bus ride into the city? Currently on Rinvoq and it is not working and too many side effects.

Hi, dkenton! Traveling with a major UC flare sounds really tough—especially with so many hours of travel. For the airport and flight, some people find layered support helps: hydration, small frequent snacks if tolerated, a travel pillow, and wearing loose clothing. Also, having medications and any emergency supplies easily accessible in a carry-on can make a big escape road difference.
