I have had an on again, off again pain in my left side. It is inconsistent and sometimes happens a lot and then sometimes doesn't happen. It usually is worse right after eating and is sometimes made more tolerable or believed by passing gas. The pain is excruciating. It leaves me doubled over wondering if I need to go to the hospital. It feels like it is directly under my left ribcage deep behind the ribs. It sometimes penetrates the pain up to my shoulder and gets worse with breathing in.
I don't have an appendix, my pancreas is fine, and I've never had Crohn's Disease in my colon (only in my small intestine). I am wondering what this pain could be and Google seems to offer no help. Has anyone else experienced this?

I once had this sort of pain when I was first diagnosed with crohn's. I remember one time, just after eating, it was so bad that i was on the floor, crying my eyes out that it was so painful. A few weeks later, I had a colonoscopy, and found out it was crohn's. I would certainly get this checked out especially if it becomes more frequent.
