Well, everyone. I am back in the hospital. The past year and a half I have been in and out, however, since January, I have been free. I have not been in as much pain, fhe diarrhea has drilled; everything (or so I thought) was working out for the best. Been having bloody diarrhea and more and more pain since about.. 3 weeks now. Held off for so long, thought I was doing so good. The pain is all over the right side. Severe, constant. Has always been in the left, never like this. I am so scared:(
-Mahdy. 19 & colitis.. It sucks.

i too struggle with left and right side pain and my doctors cannot seem to find out why. Since October I have been in and out of the hospital and was off work for three months at the end of last year and just missed another week this month due to issues with keeping food down and loss of fluids. I too like the others try to stay positive, however I understand your pain.<br />

I hope that by now you are doing much better..hang in there! I was diagnosed at 28. I went through the same feelings. I am now 41 and believe me although not easy but it will get better. What i did to stay positive and have hope is meditation and diet.I have always been on the healthy eating side and exercised often so that part was covered.I wish that i could have been part of a forum like this when i was first diagnosed. so you are in the right place. I know this is going to sound easier said than done but believe me, i can testify to it....developing patience and my reaction to certain unpredictable events helped tremendously. I was a very impatient person. With border line OCD. I always wanted to have control of everything and was extremely upset when it didn't go as i wanted it to go. Throughout the years i have learned that i cannot dwell or be angry at anything that life throws at me. I became a Christian about 5 years ago. With that said, I have realized and learned that i was playing God and I have let go of my control and handed it over to him. i cannot say that i am flare up free but i can tell you that i strive to live life to the fullest. I have my days where I do feel down and out and when that happens i think of those individuals that cannot walk, see, hear...then i give thanks to God and feel grateful for the blessings that i have in life. I feel a peace that only he can give. Don't allow this medical condition to stop you from pursuing your dreams. On the contrary, use it to motivate you to go on. Get to know your body and learn what makes it better, ie certain foods, events, exercise, etc.Good luck and if you need any other advise or tips just let me know. I will be praying for you and your health. God Bless

You have to stay positive and stop worrying. Worrying and stressing about it will only make it worse. Do everything the doctors tell you and work hard at being healthy - both mentally and physically. You are young and will get through this!
