Aiding a partner with Crohn's

Sat, October 27, 2012 9:31 AM

I have recently met someone who it would appear, will be in the rest of my life in either a platonic capacity or a romantic one.

I care very deeply for her and am asking this community what are things that I can do in any way to help.

Are there any toiletry items I can keep on hand, OTC meds, vitamins/supplements, absolutely anything you can think of in which to make this person more comfortable at my place as opposed to home base?

I could browse the web all day for experts to repeat the same things, or I can turn to the people that have to live the life.  Your suggestions could range from store bought goods, to emotional support.  Basically, tell me everything I need to know to be as helpful as possible!

I thank you for your time and answers, and offer up a prayer for all of you.

First off, you did something already just making the effort.  Second, talk to her...and mostly just listen and let her know you are there to help in whatever capacity.  third research the disease...that will help you both...and side effects of meds.  it sounds like you are a great caring friend.  i wish you both the best...oh yeah........... most important...plenty of soft t.p.     :)   ( and a sense of humor!)   best, shelly

haha for me there isn't anything that makes me feel better at someone's house, just have to get over using the bathroom around them really. so i'd say just make sure she knows you dont care
