Question not sure if Crohn's related

Mon, October 29, 2012 12:48 PM

For over a year now I have been getting extremely bad body aches and fever almost like having the flu but it's not the flu. It lasts up to 3 days and is 100 times worse feeling than the flu. It was happening 1x a month now it's more frequent in fact 3x this month. It generally lasts just 24 hrs. I was wondering if any one else has experienced this as well. I have Crohn's and unmedicated since I have tried everything that is available to me form my Dr.'s.
Any advise is appreciated. I do have an appointment with a new GI Thursday and my PCP next week.

Thank you for your time

I have similar symptoms as well. Mine seem to be confined to the waist and up.
Mine are intermittent, one day on and two off, and so on.

My intestinal issues are mostly under control right now but the rest is really difficult to deal with.

Flu like feeling in soft tissue, muscle burning, joint pain, edema, fatigue.

I don't believe a fever is involved.

Share any relief you may get!

I too have symptoms you have described.  About 2 x a month, I feel like someone has taken a baseball bat to my body, extreme fatigue, fever, burning eyes (which may be the fever), headaches, and severe pain in my intestines.  I know I will continue to suffer with these symptoms until it passes, which is anywhere from 2 - 4 days.  I am not sure which type of doctor to see for these symptoms, I currently see a GI surgeon, but think it is time to see a Rheumatologist as well.

good luck with your symptoms, and hopefully they will pass soon.
