Life Insurance with IBD

Tue, November 27, 2012 12:22 AM

Hello, I am a 33 male with a wife and 18 month old daughter. I have had Crohns for 12 years and am in pretty great shape now after resection surgery 4 years ago. I have had whole life insurance for my entire life. My parents got it for me when I was a baby and I have added a few more levels of coverage since then. I want to say I pay about $250 per year for about $30,000 in insurance.

Lately I have been wondering if switching to term life is a better move or if it is even possible with a chronic condition. I was always told I would be in trouble if it lapsed because I wouldn't get covered without medical tests, etc.

What do others out there with IBD have? Should I let the whole life lapse?

You will never get more insurance for less money!  Do not let that policy lapse.
