Sleep and Medicine Absorption

Mon, January 07, 2013 2:29 PM

Howdy.

I've had 2 resections over the past 12 years.  After my first surgery, I noticed that my sleep was disrupted quite a bit.  I can't fall asleep on my own.  So, my PCP prescribed Seroquel to help me with sleep.

The only problem is that it seems like it takes my body a long while to absorb the medicine.  I can take my 50mg pill at 9 and still be wide awake by midnight.

Anyone have problems with 1. Sleep after surgery or 2. Absorbing your medicines properly because of surgery?

Cheers,

Brent
