hi ashley!

my name is basmah. i am 21 years old and have been diagnosed with crohn's since i was 16 (bleh!). i understand how frustrating it can get - this summer especially has been *** for me; last month i was hospitalized twice and i was in the er a couple of days ago. but right now, i am trying my best to be optimistic and i know that things can only go up from here. i hope you are feeling better now than in may. having a bigger support group always helps, my email is basmah.a.ali@gmail.com. i am also on this website called wearecrohns.org (it's kind of like a facegroup for people with/supporters of ibd). it's very helpful!

hello girls...I am also 26. First got sick at 15 and was miss diagnosed for 7 years! Most doctors told me I should see a shrink! I was finally diagnosed in college and have been trying to figure it out ever since. I often get depressed but try my very hardest to stay positive. It is nice to know that I am not alone in this battle! The best we can do is be positive and be healthy...

Hi Ashley,
Sounds like were in pretty similar situations. I am also 26 and having a really bad flare. I was diagnosed at 8 and have been pretty lucky, I've only had a few really bad flares between then and now. I just cant seem to shake this one, every time I think I'm getting better I wind up right back where I started. I've tried every medication my Dr has thrown at me (had a really bad reaction to Remicade) and alternative treatments (which seem to help more than conventional in my case!), and I'm still not well. I feel like I'm just going to be sick will be forever.
I also feel really bad about missing work but filed for FMLA. My co-workers are very understanding. I'm kind of a work-aholic, and will push myself to the very end to be there, even though I know it's not the right thing to do.
Thankfully my boyfriend is very supportive, but I know this is stressful for him as well.
Sorry for the long post. I guess what I mean to say is: if your looking for someone to talk to please email me BeachbumOT@gmail.com.
