I sure get depressed when I head into a flare and meds don't seem to work.... what helps me is to read this Forum, in order to remind myself that I'm not alone! Also, I meditate - just sit, even for 10 minutes, in a quiet ;place and notice my breathing. That always clears my mind.
I also put on some of my favorite music to lift my mood.

Thank you for your input. So far from the information I have collected from participates of my survey is that depression is associated with a chronic illness. Now, what are some alternative ways (other than meds) that patients can deal with the depression ? And are patients even aware of their choices? Well, I didn't write those questions expecting an answer, but it's something to think about. Please take care and know that while you may feel alone, you are not.
