Homeless Brother Living in Tent in Pasedena, Maryland with Crohns

Thu, July 11, 2013 3:32 PM

Hello,

I have a brother who is middle-aged who is in advanced stages of Crohn's. He currently lives in a tent somehwere in Pasedena, Maryland based on the last cell
phone conversation I had with him. His name is Bobby Noonan.

Bobby applied for Disability 18 months ago and has not yet heard back from anyone despite his life-threatening condition. He currently bleeds often and now has
to take steroid enemas to relieve the pain and bleeding.  At his last known Doctor visit, he as advised to go on Humira as his last hope for relief from the disease.

My question is, wiith all of the information that he has submitted to the Disability folks, why has he not heard back yet? His life is on the line. A man who has worked hard all his life as a roofer and construction worker who can no longer work and needs this disability and whose life hangs in the balance should not have to still be on an 18-month waiting list. Would you agree?

What can I do to help him?  Who can he call ? (He has a cell phone that he uses minimally to make as-needed phone calls only).  There must be someone who
can help expedite his situation. He needs medical help, housing and food.

Anyone who knows someone or an organization that can help fight for my brother's life and be an advocate for him, I would deeply appreciate that advice.

Thanks!
