How to treat the pain

Mon, September 02, 2013 11:17 AM

Newly diagnosed in June our daughter suffers form horrible pain daily. She has Crohns of her small bowel and Crohns Colitis. She will also see a Rheumatologist soon for suspicion of RA.  In the last 3 mnths she has spent more time in the hospital and clinic than at home.  After 7wks of prednisone and emmuron she had increased inflammation so made the choice to start Remicade. Not sure if this is right for her either.  We have tried numerous meds to try and control her pain with no help. She has horrible stomach pain, joint pain, migraines, eye problems, mouth/ear sores, etc.  Is there something out there to help these kids w/pain that isn't a narcotic?  Unfortunately that is the only thing that helps her and you can understand why we are worried about that, plus the dr's don't want to prescribe.  She has to have some quality of life and a way to manage the pain when it is too much, besides a hospital stay. Any advice would be helpful.
