Solutions for Tinnitus with IBD

Wed, December 09, 2015 12:24 AM

My 14 year old son has been very sick in and out of the hospital for the past year and a half since first being diagnosed with IBD. Very stubborn version that didn't respond to the typical IBD meds, all of which he's been on. Finally in partial remission from newer meds like Entyvio. In September he started developing tinnitus, ringing/buzzing in both his ears, which we think was partially due to some meds he was on like Marinol and Gabapentin which we discontinued. However the tinnitus continues to be a problem so we're trying to brainstorm what could be contributing, looking at all his meds again for tinnitus as a possible side effect.

Has anyone experienced tinnitus along with IBD/Crohn's? Any tips for what might help? Thanks!

Hello, don't know if this is still active question, but I suffer awful tinnitus and have for last 3 years, from research I put it down to either mesalazine/pentasa or steroids, drives me crazy. The only solution is quiet music to focus on at night and avoid high screaming... It does ease up and you do become immune but it's nasty!
