so sorry to hear this.

i share some of your feelings with respect to my wife.  nonetheless, she is taking prednisone, and i feel like that is affecting some of her strong emotions. its a difficult balance.  while taking care of your mom, dont forget to take care of yourself.  if there is any way to involve family and friends in the caretaking, i suggest you consider it. im sure you are doing a great job taking care of your mom.  the easy thing would be to run away from the task.  i have a great respect for that.  but, if i may be so bold to say, you can only control yourself, not others, not even your mom. you can only do your best, and she will have to do the rest as best she can.  wishing you the best.
