Aloe Juice?

Thu, July 02, 2009 2:26 PM

My daughter has UC.  She is currently coping with a flare (3 months now) and has a lot of abdominal pain.  Ive been reading the "benefits" of Aloe Juice for the digestive track on line and was curious if anyone has tried.  I know each person is affected differently, but am still interested in hearing your comments.

Thank you

My daughter has been a Crohn's patient for too many years and I too have checked more natural / herbal type of remedies only because I don't like the idea of yet another prescription.  My advice to you is to ask your doctor.  I asked my own OB (who I trust completely) and she appreciates my natural healing; however, she also discouraged the Aloe juice.    Supposedly it can has a tendency to induce bleeding.   (Lord know we don't need that).

Have you tried coconut macaroon cookies?   They may help with the belly problems and couldn't hurt anything (except for this mommy's waistline - they are habbit forming for me!).

I hope your daughter is doing better.

My son has Crohn's and was having prob with constipation. I reached alternative meds and came across Aloe juice. He has been using it almost daily for the past couple of months and he says it helps him. They did a study at the Mayo Clinic and found it to be helpful.
