My son has been in hospital in the UK for 2 weeks now following severe stomach pain and nausea and weight loss he had a colonoscopy which was clear and then was rushed in with bleeding not perforated though luckily.
The only positive result he has had is elevated levels of calprotectin in a stool sample, his bloods are normal apart from near to being anaemic but not there yet he weighed 12 and half stone he is now 11 and half stone 6 foot  3.in height.
His symptoms are stomach pain, nausea, weight loss, pale and extremely tired sleeps a lot known as sleeping beauty on the ward he is on now. He is having an endoscopic capsule test soon possibility of crohn's in his small bowel they are saying.
Does this sound familiar to anyone out there he is also diabetic type 1 which is difficult to control with all of this going on too.

thank you for your time and any advisefrown

I suffered from UC for 3 1/2 and then started researching online. My husband was my donor and it has now been almost 4 months of being back to normal, having normal bowel movements - no gas, no cramps, no urgency, no blood, etc.  I am back to eating anything I want after 6 months on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I hav even been eating some things that are considered illegal on SCD, but with no problems.

If you would like to read my story and see links to other articles, email me.

Just don't give up thinking it is hopeless - there is another way. I am not on any drugs and completely symptom free.

These digestive issues are caused by a imbalance in the bacteria in your gut, most likely from antibiotic use or sometimes food poisoning.

Just google Fecal Transplant and you will find how it is being used to heal digestive issues - I had UC and it healed me.

The symptoms sound all too familiar.   Hopefully the camera study will show something.   Has he had an EGD done yet?
Once you have a dx you can proceed ahead accordingly.
Good luck
