Do you drink Beer, Whiskey, etc?

Are your symptoms worse after you drink?

Mine were.

Anytime I have a drink it’s like the UC effects are back.  It’s temporary, I’m guessing once the alcohol is gone it clears up.  One beer, I’ll notice it the next day.  Many drinks, I pay for it.  I wasn’t totally sure at first, but after “testing/timing” six times I’m quite confident in my assertion.  Note; having one drink, once in awhile is acceptable to me because it’s limited and mild.  But I’ve essentially given up all alcohol – and feel much better in many ways.

For me I never correlated that having a few beers, or some drinks while dancing, etc. could be making things worse with my UC.  Everyone is a little different, but this helped me.  Hopefully it can be of some help for you.

Sincerely, Rick

I agree with you on the drinking, I noticed the same thing going on with me.  Have you tried to get away with having a glass of wine?  If so what was your reaction?

I have not had a beer or any of the hard stuff in over a year.  Becuase of Gluten intolerances.

Many IBDers have issues with Gluten so beer can be bad.

If I'm enjoying time with friends or family I have a dry red wine.  Less sugar and full of good antioxidants.  I have not had any setbacks drinking it.  But then again I might drink 1 bottle a month., I'm not double fisting it.

Moderation with anything is always good.
