Juicing?

Has anyone with Chron's tried juicing fruits & vegetables? And was it helpful or easy to digest?

I just had a consult with a master herbalist and she wanted to me begin juicing asap.   I was hesitant because of CD and thought I couldn't have all these raw veggies and fiber.  I was wrong.   I bought a juicer (this doesn't go in a blender) and followed the recipe she suggested.   All of the hard to digest fiber remains in the machine and only the natural veggie juice is expelled.   I have to admit I was leery at first, but I do feel a bit more energized.

Cabbage contains the amino acid glutamine which has been researched for healing stomach and intestinal ulcers.  google Dr. Garnet Cheney.
A good juice recipe:
5 - carrots
1 - 3 inch wedge of green cabbage
1/2  - apple

Thank you. Like you what works for me @ one time will not work for me later down the road. So I think I will give juicing a try as you said 'just to give my intestines a break'.

Hi,

I don't have crohns but colitis so that might be different. I usually juice for a few days up to 21 days in spring. And I mean really juice, with a juicer, not a vitamix or so. Not that I think one is better it's just different. A juicer takes all the fiber out and that is exactly what makes things really good for me.
I feel great when I juice, I basically have very little symptoms or no symptoms at all. But eventually I go back to normal eating, and usually symptoms come back after that.

Even though I have my UC pretty much under control, I do think it gives my intestines a break when I juice. I have tried to re introduce foods slowly and see what gives me problems and what not but there is no rhyme or reason to it. What does not bring problems one  year does bring issues the next. I do juice every morning for breakfast. Usually the same, 1 apple, 1 lemon, 1 orange, 1 beet, and lots of spinach, love it!!!!
