I am currently not having a flare-up and seem to be doing ok, thankfully. However I am always in search of preventative measures I can take. Has anyone tried ozonated water to remedy UC? Is this just wishful thinking on my part I can't find an empirical data other than the manufactor's claim that it treats UC. Thoughts?
'Ozone was the focus of considerable research in Germany during the early part of the 20th Century where it was successfully used to treat patients suffering from inflammatory bowel disorders, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and chronic bacterial diarrhea.'
Diagnosis: Pancolitis - Currently prescribed Asacol HD. Several flare-ups have been treated with Mesalamine & Prednisone combo successfully. Also started taking Manuka honey as a natural remedy which I highly recommend.

Hi,
Manuka honey is like any other honey just a bit thicker and sweeter in my opinion. You can take a tea spoonful or even spread on a piece of toast. The higher the number the more potent it is. I use it more as a preventative measure. I also take asacol HD and prednisone for my flare ups. I am not a fan of prednisone nor pharmas in general. I have noticed during my flares ginger aid tea has an amazing calming and soothing effect on my system. I would suggest that as well, your 13 year old may need to adapt to the taste a little, but it brings relief and I'm sure that will be most welcome. Best of luck and cheers to good health.

You are the second person that mentions makuna honey, how do you take it? My son is 13 years old ,diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis .he is currently taking Asacol,Prednisone plus other meds. If I can find anything that helps him heal without so many meds that cause all kind of side effects.I'll take any advice. Thank you!!
