Naturopaths who specialize in helping patients with IBD

Sun, September 07, 2014 3:07 PM

Does anyone know of a nautropath or homeopathic practitioner in the Central NY area with experience working with IBD patients? I'm struggling to get a tough UC flare-up into remission and would like to try a natural solution rather than more drugs. (I'm already taking mesalamine oral and rectal, 6MP and prednisone). I've read a lot about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, Paleo Diet, probiotics, aloe vera and various nutritional supplements that have helped people with UC, but I don't know how to begin figuring out which one might work for me. I do not have any food allergies that I'm aware of.

I'll shamelessly plug myself here (I apologise now if this is against any forum rules) but I work with IBD sufferers to help them naturally improve their symptoms.  My wife suffered with UC for many years but when we took action the changes were dramatic.

I'm not based in NY but I work with people from all over.  I'm based in the UK and we stay in touch via email and Skype, and that works perfectly well so please don't feel that you need to find a suitable person near to where you live.

For more info on what I do, my site is (the self indulgently titled!) iamgregwilliams.com

I wish you luck!  Unfortunately I live in WI so I don't know of any out there, but mine has helped tremendously and I am not on any medications, only supplements.  I will say its a lot of work and expensive because of everything he recommended is not covered by medical insurance BUT to me it was worth it.  I feel better than i have in like ten years (i've only been diagnosed for 5) and I don't suffer the side effects of the medications anymore which is awesome!  Good luck to you!
