I am curious how many of you are using turmeric daily. What is your dosage? Do you increase if you are flaring?
My 7 year old daughter takes 500 mg turmeric daily with a meal.
Dx in May 2016. Currently on Remicade infusions every six weeks and added back in Budesonide 6 mg/day due to C-reactive protein levels climbing higher and fecal calprotectin off the charts in October 2016.

I have been taking a capsule of Turmeric twice a day since I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease. It is anti-inflammatory and it sheds the lining of the intestinal tract. After taking turmeric for about a week you will notice a mucous-like coating on your poop. This is a GOOD thing. I know of a lot of people who take turmeric who have auto immune diseases and it helps with their symptoms.

I started this on my own with my daughter. I read many research articles so between the 2013 article "Tolerability of Curcumin in Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A forced dose titration study" and the 2016 review article "Nutrition in Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease: From Etiology to Treatment: A Systematic Review", I started her on the same brand of capsules they used in the study: Curcumin Extract 500 mg with Bioperine by Vital Nutrients (can find on Amazon). I thought I would increase her dosage after her next lab draw if things aren't better. Very safe.

Hi There,
I actually wanted to begin consuming turmeric. Was this recommended by the doc or personal choice? Have you/she noticed a difference since adding this to her diet? I see you mention a specific dosage, do you buy this in pill form or you measure it out?
