Diet, Pre and Probiotics

I was diagnosed with Crohns a little over 10 years ago.  I had been taking 6MP for 10 years, until this past June when I had a lymph node removed from my groin and found out it was malignant.  I now have Lymphoma, which my doctor at Sloan-Kettering and my new gastro doc feel it was caused by the medicine.  So i went off it immediately, as told too by the doctors, and decided to make a huge diet shift to try and lessen any effects of now not being on the medicine.  I can tell you that I have not had any attacks in over 6 months and actually have had more normal bowel movements than I have ever had.  Why?  Well i do not have severe disease, but believe this might work for those with mild to servere disease.

I have stopped eating all red meat.  I stopped drinking anything with cafeine and limited my alchol content considerably.  I also went to a very low fiber diet, did not eat any raw vegetables or fruit, but did start slow juicing fruit and vegetables each and every day (no more than 16 ounces daily of each).  I eat fish about 4 times a week, and chicken the other days.  I have limited but have not stopped eating salad, but will juice that as well.  I also have gone now about 90% gluten and dairy free.

I also began taking a pre/probiotic from a company called nuti-spec, based in Pennsylvania, and it has been a lifesaver, with all the other.  Depending on your severity, this could help you, as it has tremendously helped me.  Now that I have 2 auto-immune diseases, I intend to continue on this track until it fails me.  The funny thing is my gastro doc pu-pued me on this, but can't explain why I am doing so well.  That is okay, it is my life, not hers and I just need the monitoring anyway.

So give it a try...and keep it simple...good luck to all

I suffered from UC for 3 1/2 and then started researching online. My husband was my donor and it has now been almost 4 months of being back to normal, having normal bowel movements - no gas, no cramps, no urgency, no blood, etc.  I am back to eating anything I want after 6 months on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.

Just don't give up thinking it is hopeless - there is another way. I am not on any drugs and completely symptom free.

These digestive issues are caused by a imbalance in the bacteria in your gut, most likely from antibiotic use or sometimes food poisoning.

Just google Fecal Transplant and you will find how it is being used to heal digestive issues - I had UC and it healed me.
